What brings a tear of joy to your eye?
There’s things that make me happy
There’s things that make me glad
But things that make me teary eyed
Why, mostly they’re contrived.
Usually some soppy film
Is what will make me cry
A grown man usually sensible
Feels tears come to his eye.
It’s sheer manipulation
A clever writer’s trick.
Pull yourself together man.
Stop it now. Just quit.
The joy of seeing children born
A friend you found again.
Nothing makes you cry like this.
It makes so little sense.
