Mallet

Poetry 1 Minute

The hardest stone

Can be cracked with a mallet.

If you take a chisel

And carefully bang it.

 

It has to be tapped

In just the right place.

There’s one chance to shape it

It can’t be replaced.

 

Life and it’s problems

Can be just the same.

You mustn’t swing wildly

But carefully take aim.

 

First see things clearly

Get them straight in your mind;

Know where you are going

And how to begin.

 

Then strike with your mallet

And aim straight and true

Chisel the future that

Was meant for you.

  4. Great work Andrew! My favorite line is:

    “It has to be tapped

    In just the right place.

    There’s one chance to shape it

    It can’t be replaced.”
